Tragic story of Renee Williams - The 70 stone mum!!!

Just want to share this interesting tragic story with you all!!! Renee Williams

(a 29-year-old mother of two), from Austin, Texas, has became the heaviest person ever to have gastric bypass surgery earlier this year after ballooning to nearly seventy stone.

Renee was classified as super-morbidly obese at the age of 12. She was married by the age of 15 and had her first child, Mirina, at 16 weighing 30 stone. She had grown to a massive 35 stone by the time she had her second daughter Mariah.

In 2003, she was hit by a drunken driver in an accident that left her unable to walk because her leg was crushed. She became bedridden and began eating even more. Renee piled on more and more weight and by 2007 she was nearing 70 stone.

She begged doctors to perform the operation when she became so large that she couldn't hug her two children.

"I understand the risks but I am not going to make it if I don't have the surgery," Renee said at the time.

"I want to be able to care for my daughters and see them graduate high school."

The operation was successful and Renee lost four stone due to her reduced stomach capacity before dying of a sudden heart attack 12 days later.

GHANA AND NAIJA FILMS TO SEE

The Holiday season brings out family members you haven't seen in ages hoping for a warm bed, food, and comfort. So the one thing that is entertainment for African families is the movies from the Naija and Ghana film industries.

"In the Eyes of my Husband" stars Van Vicker and Nadia Burai. Here's the summary of the movie: Princess' (she's one of my favorite Ghana actresses) husband falls madly in love with Princess' younger sister, "Jasmine" (Burai). However Jasmine fells in love with a school boy (Vicker) she constantly bumps into.

If you want to see "In The Eyes of My Husband", you'll need a bit of patience. The plot slowly progresses into the juicy drama you and I both love about African films. Princess' story line takes too long developing before we see Van Vicker and Nadia Burai's love plot. There are some funny scenes in the film like when Van Vicker meets Jasmine for the first time and gets caught by his girlfriend's close friend or when Princess caught her husband staring at Jasmine.

What I annoyed me from watching "In the Eyes of My Husband" is the fact Princess put a lot into the marriage only to watch her husband chase after her sister.

"Total Crisis" and "Lion's Den" are two other Ghana films I purchased too but I haven't had the chance to see it. "Lion's Den" stars Patience Ozokwor, Bob Manuel Udokwu, and Chioma Chukwuka. "Total Crisis" has Uche Jombo, Tony Umez, Chioma Chukwuka and Patience Ozokwor in its cast. "Total Crisis" reminds me of a lot of Genevieve Nnaji's "Sharon Stone" because the title character (Oge Okoye) tracks down her men via their huge bank accounts.

Is Akshay Kumar charging anywhere between Rs. 30 and Rs. 40 crores [inclusive of a cut in the profits] per film? That’s the buzz in the industry! “I keep reading fluctuating figures in the newspapers, every second day. It’s far from true,” Akshay smiles.

So what’s the truth? Isn’t he demanding a cut in the profits of the film? “Yes, I am and I don’t see any harm in it. If you’re selling the film on the strength of an actor, why shouldn’t I get a share in it? Make your money, but give me a share too. In any case, my fee is never on the higher side. For me, not just my producer, everyone involved in the film has to make money. The economics have to work for everyone,” Akshay reasons.

Meanwhile, Akshay is enjoying the current phase of superstardom. “I’ve consistently delivered hits in the past, but it’s only now that people have woken up to an actor called Akshay Kumar,” he smiles.
