AKON ON COMING TO AMERICA

R&B star Akon loved being the envy of all his classmates at school, and even convinced them he was an African prince. The singer - who was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Senegalese parents - would often get picked up from school by his father in a black Mercedes-Benz, much to the annoyance of his friends. He says, Everybody here believed every stereotype (about Africa). I was like, 'These guys can't be no more stupid than they look.'" And the 1988 release of Eddie Murphy's "Coming To America," in which he plays an African prince adjusting to life in the US, only enhanced Akon's profile as 'royalty.' He adds, "That helped me even more. Everybody thought I was a prince!" In Related News: Akon nor his reps are commenting on the controversial video circulating over the Internet which features him stimulating sexual acts on a underage girl during a performance. Pastor/father of 14 year-old daughter Akon bump and grind with speaks out:
Pastor Dave Alleyne of the Flaming Word Ministry of Chaguanas told The Trinidad Express that his daughter was not in control of the situation.
"She likes dancing and won a competition," Alleyne said. The girl was one of seven females that joined Akon on stage to compete for a chance to dance with the Senegal-born singer.
Pastor Alleyne did describe the dance of his 14-year-old daughter and Akon as "atrocious." Pastor Alleyne has been criticized sharply by his Chaguanas ministry for not expressing more outrage at sexually charged way he danced with the girl. "They are innocent to the wicked ways of the world and it is our responsibility as elders to keep them safe," Alleyne said. Many in his church want Akon banned from public performances in the area. AKON'S DRY HUMP FIASCO!

Akon pretends to dry hump some underage girl on stage at a Trinidad show.

"International superstar Akon lived up to his name as he conned seven ladies into dancing onstage during his performance on Thursday night at the Zen nightclub in Port of Spain.

The star from Senegal managed to convince the ladies, who made their way onstage, that they were taking part in a global contest and that they could earn a fabulous grand prize trip to Africa if they won.

The competition was then filmed by Akon's crew and later revealed to be a mere sham for the entertainment of the audience present, and an even greater potential global audience, as he promised to upload the footage onto the popular Internet video website www.youtube.com.

After performing his string of hit singles, including "Ghetto", "Locked Up", "Soul Survivor" and "I Wanna Love You", Akon requested and secured seven volunteers "to represent Trinidad" in the contest. He claimed that he had done this "everywhere he went", and that "Africa was currently ranked number one", with "Atlanta" and "London" coming in second and third, respectively.

He said: "We've never done this in the Caribbean before, but my DJ assures me that Trinidad has the best winers. Is that true? Well, y'all gotta represent here. Come on up now. Don't be scared."

The star then assured the audience that the local winner would compete in the finals against "Africa". As the contest began, each lady tried to out-win the other to the sounds of Akon's recent collaboration, "Smack That", which features hip-hop star Eminem.

The crowd roared their approval of the eventual winner, who was then taken two short steps "to Africa" by Akon and promised that she could name her prize herself, if she defeated the best of Africa: none other than Akon himself.

Later on, Akon would have his way with the petite young lady: turning, twisting and even flipping her body, while mimicking sexual positions and acts all over the stage for three consecutive rounds....

Egypt and Germany are fighting over the bust of Nefertiti. The bust of Queen Nefertiti* of Egypt is seen at Berlin's Museum Island's Old Museum in 2005. Egypt on Sunday threatened to ban future displays of its ancient artifacts in Germany if Berlin refuses to return a 3,400-year-old bust of Queen Nefertiti for a temporary exhibition. Nnenna Agba is the the 24 yr old Nigerian with the really thick Igbo accent that was on Cycle six of America's Next Top Model. The show comes on in the UK a few weeks from now on UKTV gold so i reckon you guys should look out for it.
I've posted excerpts of an interview she did with bet just after getting eliminated from the show in week nine

BET.com: What does Nnenna mean?
Nnenna: It means father’s mother comes back from a different light. It’s Nigerian.

BET : During one challenge, you got a little loose and ended up kissing a male model. What was that about?
Nnenna: That was an effort to run from the stereotype. I didn’t want to get pinned as the boring girl. It was just a photo shoot, nothing more.

BET.com: Were you surprised when you were sent home?
Nnenna: Not really. I thought it might be me. I didn’t transform into a mermaid and that’s what modeling is about.

When asked whether she was still withe her botfriend John after her shinanigans on the show
Nnenna says:

Yes, we’re working things out. I regret some of the things I said and the way I spoke to him on the show and he regrets some things too. And my leaving had nothing to do with him. I’m responsible.
