An overview on "Keppel Nights":
Keppel Nights, a partnership between Keppel Corporation and the Arts and Culture Development Office, is Singapore’s first sustainable ticket incentive scheme for ticketed arts and culture shows.
The scheme aims to develop new and active audiences by making the appreciation and enjoyment of arts and culture more financially accessible.
Launched in August 2008, the scheme has offered ticket subsidies to a wide variety of shows on most weekends as well as some weekdays throughout the year.
Keppel Corporation and the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts have unveiled plans for an enhanced Keppel Nights scheme.
It will offer more opportunities to enjoy the arts for first-time goers and those who cannot afford the full price ticket.
The scheme also includes ticketed exhibitions in addition to performing acts.
For those who have experienced the scheme, they'll get the Mad-About-Arts card which will give them a ten-per cent discount on future ticket purchases staged by organisers under the Keppel Nights scheme.
For individuals who are passionate about the arts, they are invited to become Arts Kakis where they will encourage beneficiaries under Keppel's scheme to attend these performances.
Since the launch of the scheme in 2008, it has supported about 150 shows offering 12,500 subsidised tickets and benefiting more than 11,000 people.
