Supermodel Naomi Campbell, rapper/actor Ludacris and singer Corrine Bailey Rae came out to support Nelson Mandela's 46664 World AIDS Day concert via a press conference in South Africa yesterday. Featuring notable South African and American artists such as Ludacris, Peter Gabriel, Razorlight, Annie Lennox, Corinne Bailey Rae, the actual concert will concide with World AIDS Day which is today (December 1st).
One consistency with the UK model Naomi is her love for the former South African President besides who can forget how in the past she called Nelson her "honorary grandfather"?! The concert, which happens to be fund-raising campaign named 46664 after Mandela's prison number, is for a good cause...and hopefully it'll get televised over here in the States and not just in Johannesburg.
Nelson Mandela's daughter, Maki Mandela, bought AIDS awareness to the people of China via a press conference for Miss World Pageant's 'Beauty with a Purpose' campaign. At the event, Maki pose with Miss World Pageant Director Julia Morley. Doesn't Maki look exactly like her father? It's great that she's supporting her father's charity cause...
Back in New York City, Thandie Newton attended Calvin Klein's museum opening. 'First Look' grand reopening celebration of The New Museum on the Bowery took place a day after Thandie's red carpet spot in London. Not showing a bit of jet-lagged, Thandie of course wore a piece from the designer's Fall 2007 collection.
