What I don't get it is from the screenshot above from Singapore Blood Stocks Indicator, it's shown that Group O stock is at Critical--the level shows 314--and yet the Group AB stock is at "Healthy" despite the level shows 118?!
Perhaps some typo error? So if you're of AB blood type, do start donate! The "Healthy" might mean "Extremely Critical".
But if you're of O blood type, no doubt of the worrying critical level. Don't think. Just do it--donate!
The Singapore Red Cross and the Bloodbank@HSA are calling on O blood donors to come forward to make a blood donation within the next couple of days.
As of Wednesday, September 15, the national blood stock supply for O blood is enough for less than three days.
The aim is to bring the current bloodstock level to at least six days' supply to ensure that daily transfusion needs and bleeding emergencies are met.
This means the support of at least 400 donors is required.
All healthy individuals between 16 and 60 years, weighing at least 45 kilograms, are urged to come forward to help.
Donors who have not made a donation in the past 12 weeks are encouraged to donate as well.
The public can donate blood at the Bloodbank@HSA located at 11 Outram Road, opposite Outram Park MRT Station.
The opening hours are as follows:
Tuesdays to Thursdays - 9am to 6.30pm
Fridays - 9am to 8pm
Saturdays - 9am to 4.30pm
Sundays - 9am to 2pm
Closed on Mondays and public holidays
The public can also donate blood at community bloodmobiles.
Details of the community mobiles are available online at www.donorweb.org.
Members of public who wish to donate can call the Singapore Red Cross at 62200183 for more details.
